Shari Friesen Benyousky...
... was born on a frigid February night in Warsaw Indiana. After a circuitous journey she has inexplicably ended there again with her husband Nate and three children Daniel, Joelle and Jason and their dog Lucky. She desperately loves the feel of a great pile of leaves, the laugh wrinkes around Nate's eyes, and emailing her website guru Megan. She hates aggregate gatherings involving fundraisers or paperwork, and people who cut in line just because someone else cut in line ahead of them.
Shari hopes one day to make enough money to buy a shack in the south of France where she can pen novels and drink rose wine bottled from the vineyard up the road a piece while listening to her husband's newest poetry and the wind blow.
Shari teaches English at Indiana Purdue University. She and her husband Nate co-wrote the poetry for John Eric Hawkins' amazing photography book The Ancient Shape of Man published in 2004.
An Indiana Arts Commission Individual Artist 2008 Grant helps make possible this website project. It is designed to work with Shari's manuscript The Lost Chloe. She is currently completing her second manuscript entitled Four Boxes.
